Developed for St John of God Health Care, one of Australia's leading Catholic healthcare providers, the project transformed a key site within the historic Midland Railway Workshops precinct into a modern 123-bed private hospital. The facility includes operating theatres, a cardiac catheter laboratory, day procedure and short-stay facilities, diagnostic imaging, pathology, pharmacy and supporting infrastructure, significantly expanding healthcare services to Perth's eastern corridor. The hospital officially opened in August 2026.

Johnstaff was engaged to provide Project Management and Superintendent services from concept design through to completion, commissioning and operational readiness. Our role included programme management, procurement, stakeholder coordination, approvals management, cost control, risk management and contract administration.

The project was required to meet an operational deadlinedriven by the State Government's buy-back of private beds, while alsoresponding to budget constraints, complex healthcare requirements and extensivelicensing and approval processes. Johnstaff implemented a fast-track deliveryapproach, enabling planning, approvals, procurement and construction activitiesto proceed concurrently. Through early contractor involvement, collaborativevalue management and rigorous governance, the team successfully maintainedprogramme certainty while preserving key clinical outcomes.
