The Victorian Government is building or transforming new and existing residential aged care facilities that better meet community expectations and promote resident independence, dignity and mental health.

The new acute and public sector residential aged care facility on the Cohuna District Hospital campus includes 16 single aged care bedrooms with private ensuites, open area views and natural light, and a further 8 beds for the acute unit with similar amenity to support clinical requirements.

It is designed to support a range of complex care and mobility needs, including for those living with dementia. It has landscaped gardens and terraces, together with a range of common areas for socialising and activities.

Johnstaff was engaged by the Victorian Health Building Authority to provide project management and advisory services during the design and construction phases.

Johnstaff worked closely with the Victorian Health Building Authority to collaborate and manage issues throughout the lifespan of the project, engaging across multiple stakeholders including Cohuna District Hospital, ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects, Fairbrother Construction, and government departments, to ensure the project was delivered to scope, on time and on budget.
