Johnstaff was engaged as Independent Superintendent of the building contract for the development of the Clinical Practice Building in Cairns. Johnstaff’s role involved programme, quality and cost management, as well as the certification of all requisite documents. Johnstaff provided project management services to support the delivery of a major expansion to the Hopkins Correctional Centre in Ararat in regional Victoria. We were appointed by the project financiers including the Commonwealth and Bendigo Banks following the collapse of the previous builder. The PPP project provided medium-security facilities to cater for an additional 358 prisoners as well as extensive upgrades to the existing facilities and infrastructure. Our team led the procurement of the new Managing Contractor, Brookfield Multiplex, and was Superintendent to the MC contract.
