From 2011 through to 2015, Johnstaff has provided Project Management and Superintendent Services to Frankston Hospital. Specifically known as Frankston Stage 3, The Frankston Hospital Emergency Department (ED) redevelopment includes a new Building comprising of a new ED, a Coronary Care Unit and two general wards. The new ED is more than double the size of the previous one, which saw more than 65,000 admissions annually and the ED remained operational throughout the construction phase. Johnstaff commenced their role as Design Manager and Project Manager in August 2013. The 1.64 acre site lies in the heart of Kathmandu city and the five star hotel will boast 218 guest rooms and suites, a health club & spa, heated pool, fitness centre, carpark and dining restaurants. Construction is now underway with the early works contractor having completed perimeter protection piling. Documentation for the main works is undergoing final sign off and the team are continuing to resolve the challenges relating to transport logistics, procurement of material, subcontractor availability and monsoonal seasons in this spectacular but challenging location. This project involves managing consultants from all over the globe.

Following the opening of the new Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, the existing Mater Children’s Hospital underwent a major refurbishment. The project was designed to repurpose the building, now known as the Salmon building into specialist Neurosciences, Emotional Health and Adolescent and Young Adult Services. Johnstaff was appointed as Project Manager, Superintendent and Programmer of the repurpose project. The project was delivered in extremely compressed timeframes requiring detailed programming and scheduling.
