Roles and Responsibilities
Johnstaff Projects was commissioned by Government to provide Alternate Dispute Resolution services for this unique project following the presentation of substantial claims against it by the Managing Contractor and various Trade Contractors.
Johnstaff Projects' role at Federation Square included the resolution of $60m value of Trade Contractor prolongation claims against the State Government. Johnstaff Projects provided the specialist contractual and programming analysis which was the basis for our brief to negotiate with the claimants to resolve entitlement in relation to the contractual disputes.
Johnstaff Projects is proud of its achievement on this project where all claims were resolved without litigation resulting in $20m cost savings to the Victorian Government.
Our practice also played a key role in the Alternate Dispute Resolution of a substantial contractual claim made by the Managing Contactor against the Government. Again this dispute was resolved without the need for litigation.
